On the Wairarapa banks

This house sits down a cul-de-sac of a busy Fendalton street, nestling on the banks of the Wairarapa Stream. The prominent rectangular forms are partly topped with a distinctive fascia, in places cantilevering over vertical columns, forming a strong correlation between different elements of the building. The material selection further emphasises the perception of space, defining the buildings height and guiding the eye along the elegant lines against the sky.

The fascia elements are manufactured of a coil coated aluminium, featuring a 'cyprus oxide' finish. The layout and dimensions harmonize with the proportions of the strong vertical elements.

TARC's Pe2 aluminium cassette cladding is used around window openings, providing a subtle metal cladding which matches the window joinery finish.
